Ellyse Perry, a Royal Challengers Bangalore star player (RCB), has highly praised the team’s young all-rounder Shreyanka Patil, identifying her as a “special star for the future”. Perry expressed that Patil possesses remarkable skills, unlike any other young players in recent times. However, RCB’s performance in the ongoing WPL 2023 has been disappointing, losing all four matches, including a 10-wicket defeat to UP Warriorz on March 10 at the Brabourne Stadium. The team from Bangalore remains winless and at the bottom of the T20 league table.
Despite Royal Challengers Bangalore’s struggling performances, the 20-year-old all-rounder from Karnataka, Shreyanka, has stood out with her impressive batting and bowling abilities. Shreyanka has taken two wickets in three matches and has played crucial roles in several games.
During a press conference after RCB’s crushing 10-wicket defeat against UP Warriorz, Ellyse Perry shared her WPL 2023 experience and praised Shreyanka for her exceptional talent. The Australian all-rounder expressed her admiration for Shreyanka’s skills, highlighting her as a standout player in the team. The Australian all-rounder stated:
“It’s been great to see Australians doing well in the tournament, but equally, the personal highlight is seeing some of the local players doing well. Shreyanka Patil, if I am speaking from an RCB point of view, she’s super young.
“To see her come out and bat the way she does, but then obviously her bowling talent… She’s a real special star for the future. I haven’t seen someone like that of her age around the world for a long time with that kind of skill and just attitude. So, that’s cool.”
Perry scored 52 runs off 39 balls as RCB were all out for 138 in 19.3 overs against UP, who chased the target in just 13 overs, led by skipper Alyssa Healy’s unbeaten 96 off 47 balls.
Shreyanka Patil Aims to Emulate DK’s Finishing Abilities
Shreyanka Patil expressed her admiration for Dinesh Karthik’s finishing abilities in a recent interview on RCB’s YouTube channel, stating that she aims to emulate him. Karthik also praised Shreyanka’s skills in WPL 2023 and predicted that she could soon become a part of the Indian team.
