A 3-match T20 International series of India v New Zealand is set to begin on January 27 and will be hosted at Ranchi. Hardik Pandya will lead the T20I team, and Suryakumar Yadav will be the vice-captain.

The T20 International series between India and New Zealand will go as per the below-mentioned schedule:

  • 1st T20I: Jan27 at Ranchi
  • 2nd T20I: January 29 at Lucknow
  • 3rd T201: February 1 at Ahmedabad

Recently, the Indian Cricket Board announced the T20I squad for the upcoming series, and we are sad to tell you that some of our favorite players are not a part of it. Here are the 5 top players that will not play Ind v NZ T20 International.

Virat Kohli

Yes, you heard it right! The king of Cricket will not be seen playing the upcoming T20I series against New Zealand. The Board wants him to focus more on the forthcoming ODI World Cup, which is why he will not play the series.

Rohit Sharma

In 2022, we saw Sharma struggling with his bat during T20 matches, which is one big reason he was dropped from the squad. His performance in the T20I World Cup last year was quite dubious, and the masses highly questioned his role in the team.

Shreyas Iyer

Iyer has proved himself a dependable player many times in the past. He broke the record of maximum runs last year in the T20 International series against Sri Lanka. Also, he has consistently done well in IPL tournaments. However, given the competition for the spot in the team, he was not selected for the squad.

KL Rahul

2022 was no less than a nightmare for KL Rahul, and his consistently below-average performance in the last year brought him under the scanner. Rahul was highly criticised for his form in the T20 World Cup, and the Board seems to wait to get back Rahul to this format.

Ravi Bishnoi

The reasons for dropping Bishnoi from the T20 International squad are still unclear. He had a great International debut, where he bagged 16 wickets in 10 matches. Considering his stats and consistency, Bishnoi deserved a spot in the squad.
