David Warner, Australia’s opening batter, provided light on the amusing event in which he accidentally entered into the incorrect changing room during the 2024 T20 World Cup match against Oman. The veteran was removed in the last over of the innings after hitting 50 runs, and he made his way to the Oman dressing room before his error was discovered.

David Warner had played an important role as an anchor after Australia’s poor start in the battle. Being reduced to 50-3 in the ninth over, the opener had to maintain one end for his team while forming a combination with Marcus Stoinis at the other.

Warner’s heroics helped Australia score 164 runs in the first innings, which was more than enough as Oman limped to 125-9 during the run chase.

“I did not even notice. I was exhausted. So, I did not even think about it. I did not even know what was happening. I thought someone was calling me back.”

Warner’s final international assignment will be the 2024 T20 World Cup, after he declared his retirement from lengthier forms.

“You just have to use their pace” – David Warner on facing England’s pace duo of Wood and Archer

The veteran laid the groundwork for the next clash between Ashes rivals in the Caribbean by downplaying the threat offered by Mark Wood and Jofra Archer. England has yet to win a game in the tournament, with their one encounter being called off due to inclement weather.

However, in the brief 10 overs bowled in the Barbados match, Wood and Archer produced a series of tight overs, helping Scotland score 90 runs.

“You just have to use their pace. Test cricket they set different fields, different balls. In Twenty20 cricket, you only have to get half an edge on it and it can go. So there’s a fair difference.”
