Former Indian player Irfan Pathan believes that Cameron Green has justified his hefty price tag while playing for the Mumbai Indians in the ongoing season of the IPL.

He also suggested that Cameron Green can fill the shoes of Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard and become an integral part of the franchise.

While talking to the Star Sports’ Cricket Live, Pathan shared his views on Green’s performances for Mumbai, stating: 

“Cameron Green has so far justified his price tag. Green can be a horse of long race for MI. After the departure of Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard, MI need an all-rounder and Green seems to be filling the void.”

Notably, Mumbai Indians spent a whopping amount of Rs.17.25 crores to acquire Cameron Green for the franchise at the IPL 2023 mini-auction. Green has also done his job so far, amassing 199 runs in the seven games, including two half-centuries.

He has also provided valuable contributions with the ball as well picking up 5 wickets in as many games.

Paul Collingwood, former England captain, praised Sam Curran for his ability to make a significant impact with both bat and bowl, labeling him a pocket-sized dynamite. He stated: 

“Sam Curran is a true all-rounder. He can bat and ball with equal dexterity. He is a pocket-size dynamite.”

Sam Curran made history by becoming the costliest player in the IPL history after being signed by the Punjab Kings for a whopping amount of Rs.18.50 crores at the mini-auction.

He has scored 142 runs so far from his seven outings while also picking up 5 wickets at an economy rate of 8.86 in the league. Furthermore, he has also captained Punjab Kings in the absence of their regular skipper Shikhar Dhawan.
