During his visit to Mumbai, football star David Beckham gave Rohit Sharma’s daughter Samaira a Lionel Messi shirt.

Not long ago, he was in India. He­ caught the first semi-final of the 2023 World Cup. It was be­tween India and New Ze­aland. This took place at the Wankhede­ Stadium in Mumbai.

The famous past footballer was there­. He was there for the­ United Nations International Children’s Eme­rgency Fund (UNICEF). Sachin Tendulkar, Indian cricket icon, was also the­re. He was UNICEF’s local ambassador for South Asia.

During his visit, David Beckham met with a number of cricketers and celebrities both before and after the game. India captain Rohit Sharma also tweeted a few photos from his Thursday encounter with Beckham, in which the two posed after switching their India and Real Madrid jerseys.

Ritika Sajdeh, Rohit’s wife, claimed on her official Instagram account that Beckham also gave their daughter Samiara an Inter Miami shirt featuring Lionel Messi. The football legend is the owner of Inter Miami, the team that signed Messi when he left Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

Ritika posted the photos of Samiara on her Instagram account and praised the English footballer for his generous gift, writing:

“Thank you for making this little Lionel Messi fan very happy, David Beckham.”

Nasser Hussain’s Praise for Rohit Sharma: The Hero of India

Former England captain Nasser Hussain praised Rohit Sharma’s leadership ability. He commended Rohit with altering the ethos of the Indian squad and leading from the front. Hussain told Sky Sports following India’s semi-final victory over New Zealand:

“The headlines tomorrow will be about (Virat) Kohli, will be about Shreyas Iyer, and will be about Mohammad Shami. But the genuine hero of this Indian side, who has changed the culture of this Indian side is Rohit Sharma.”

He added:

“Dinesh Karthik was with the side when India played England in the semi-final of T20 World Cup in Adelaide, where they played meek, timid cricket, got a below-par score and England knocked them off by 10 wickets. He told DK that India needed to change.”

On Sunday (November 19), Team India will face Australia in the last match of the 2023 World Cup at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
