Former Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh took a veiled shot at those who frequently compare Pakistan captain Babar Azam to top Indian batsman Virat Kohli. Babar is now the No. 1 ranked ODI hitter and has an incredible record in the format.

However, Harbhajan says that the Pakistan skipper cannot be compared to Kohli and that other batsmen can learn from how the former Indian captain paces his innings in chases.

Babar Azam was dismissed for 18 off 14 balls against Australia in Bengaluru, which was one of the primary reasons why they were unable to chase down the mark of 368.

After openers Abdullah Shafique and Imam-ul-Haq got them off to a wonderful start, Pakistan skipper Asif Ali discussed squandered opportunities in the field and with the bat. In response, he stated:

“We were not up to the mark with the ball. And if you drop the catch of someone like Warner, he won’t spare you. Ball came on well under lights. Couldn’t get big partnerships in the middle overs. Need to be better in the first 10 overs with the ball, and better in the middle overs with the bat.”

Pakistan will now play Afghanistan in what may be a difficult match in Chennai. The ground has historically favored spinners, and with Afghanistan having previously played a game, they may be more prepared for the circumstances.
