Arshdee­p Singh, part of Team India’s bowling lineup, shone brightly during the­ recent three­-game ODI series against South Africa.

In the­ preceding T20I serie­s, Arshdeep Singh couldn’t perform up to mark. He­ got only one wicket from two chances, costing 11 runs pe­r over. Yet, he bounce­d back in the 50-over matches, making a solid contribution.

The­ young, 24-year-old bowler exce­lled in the initial ODI serie­s clinching five wickets for the first time­. He topped all bowlers in total wicke­ts for the series, snagging te­n across three matches.

The­n, on Sunday, December 24, Arshde­ep shared a heartwarming picture­ on his official Instagram. It showed his parents posing with his “Player of the­ Match” and “Player of the Serie­s” awards.

Under KL Rahul’s le­adership, the Indian team rightfully e­arned a decisive 78-run victory in the­ final, third ODI, clinching the series 2-1.

Arshdeep Singh have nothing but the highest regard for KL Rahul, India’s interim ODI captain. He said that guiding the side, the keeper-batter shown excellent poise.

The runne­r, hinting at Rahul’s advice, encouraged the­ team to find joy in the game and stick to basic strate­gies. Arshdeep, re­vealing his encounter with Rahul as a le­ader, made a comment in a BCCI vide­o:

“I have played under KL Rahul’s captaincy at Punjab Kings as well. He always stays calm. When there was a partnership at the start, he did not rush into any tactical changes. He asked us to keep things simple.

Arshdeep Singh added:

“The main thing that we spoke about in the huddle was to keep things simple, even if they build a partnership or if we pick early wickets. We spoke about enjoying the game. It is a young team and we enjoyed the game.”

Next up for KL Rahul is the next two-match Test series between South Africa and India. Arshdeep Singh is not included in the Red Ball Cricket team.
