AB de Villiers, the former South African and Royal Challengers Bangalore batsman, had a great time with his family in Mumbai. He visited India last week for the RCB Unbox event and was honored to be inducted into the Hall of Fame along with his former teammate Chris Gayle.

ABD, who bid farewell to all forms of cricket in 2021 and since has been away from the field, concluded his IPL 2021 season with RCB. During his final match against the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Sharjah Cricket Ground, he hit 11 runs before Sunil Narine dismissed him. The ex-batter recently took to his Instagram account to give his fans a look into his off-field activities with his family in India. Photos shared by the South African legend showed him enjoying quality time with his wife, Danielle and their three children – Yente de Villiers, John Richard de Villiers and Abraham de Villiers.

Talking to Chris Gayle in a video uploaded by Royal Challengers Bangalore, AB de Villiers recalled his first impression of Virat Kohli after their initial meetings.

“I’ve heard this question before. I’m going to give an honest answer. I thought he was quite cocky when I met him for the first time. He had this hairstyle going and he was quite flamboyant.”

“But the minute I got to know him better as a human, I think he had a barrier around him when I met him for the first time. That barrier opened up. Lots of respect after that first meeting. He is a top man but my first impression was like woah.”
