IPL 2023 is expected to be one of the most exciting Indian Premier League seasons yet. However, there are several injury worries surrounding some of the biggest stars. Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, and other elite athletes may not compete in the upcoming season due to injuries. This has already sparked discussions about which players may miss the entire competition.

1. Kyle Jamieson

New Zealand’s fast bowler, Kyle Jamieson, is set to be sidelined for 3-4 months due to a back injury that requires surgery this week. Jamieson has impressed in his 9 matches so far, claiming 9 wickets at an average of 29.89, making his absence a significant blow to CSK’s upcoming campaign.

2. Prasidh Krishna

Sad news for fans of the Rajasthan Royals and Prasidh Krishna as the bowler won’t be taking part in the IPL in 2023 due to a stress fracture in his spine that requires surgery. Prasidh was born in Bengaluru and has made a name for himself in the IPL with an impressive 49 wickets in 51 games with an efficiency rate of 8.92, 25 victims and an economy of 8.29 in 14 ODIs. His incredible bowling performances were a highlight of the league’s 2022 season, and he had 19 strokes in 17 games for an economy of 8.29.

3. Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant, the 25-year-old captain of Delhi Capitals and a rising star in the IPL, has been forced to miss this year’s tournament due to severe injuries sustained in an automobile accident on December 30, 2022. Fortunately, Pant is receiving medical attention in Mumbai, but the accident is expected to take 4 to 5 months to heal.

4. Joshua Little

Gujarat Titans’ (GT) plans have been thrown into disarray with the news of Josh Little’s hamstring injury. The Irish fast bowler has been forced to withdraw from this season of the Pakistan Super League 2023 (PSL 2023), leaving his participation in some IPL matches for the Hardik Pandya-led GT uncertain. Little is receiving medical treatment in Ireland and joined GT after being purchased at the IPL auction in December for INR 4.4 crore. 

5. Jasprit Bumrah

Bumrah’s absence in the IPL 2023 season is a massive blow to the Mumbai Indians (MI) squad, as he has yet to fully recover from the back stress fracture he sustained in September 2022. Despite hopes of his return, it is uncertain whether the bowler will be able to play at all due to the severity of the injury.
