Bhuvneshwar Kumar recently produced a moment of fielding brilliance during the Match 10 of IPL 2023. Diving to the left during his follow-through, the SRH bowler pulled a one-handed catch off his own bowling to dismiss Lucknow Super Giants’ Deepak Hooda. This is yet another example of the incredible fielding skills on show throughout the course of each edition of the Indian Premier League, with some of the most accomplished players around the globe competing in each match. Let’s look at the three greatest caught-and-bowled wickets in IPL history:

3) David Warner’s catch by Vinay Kumar, IPL 2013

In a thrilling IPL 2013 showdown, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) went to a super-over before RCB emerged victorious. The match started with a bang when RCB bowler Vinay Kumar made a miraculous catch to dismiss Delhi opener David Warner in the sixth over. Warner tried to connect with a length delivery; however, Vinay reacted quickly and amazingly caught the ball with his fingertips.

2) Umesh Yadav’s catch by Kuldeep Yadav, IPL 2022

Kuldeep Yadav made a brilliant catch to finish his four-wicket haul on the final ball of his spell. Pat Cummins and Sunil Narine had already been dismissed in the over, and with Umesh Yadav looking to up the run rate, he slog-swept the final ball of the over, only for a big top edge to fly miles towards the mid-on region. Both Kuldeep and Rishabh Pant ran for the ball, but Kuldeep was sure of himself and shouted out before making a dive to take the stunning catch.

1) Yusuf Pathan’s catch by Dwayne Bravo, Qualifier 1 of IPL 2018

Dwayne Bravo, one of the most renowned entertainers in IPL history, has had many incredible moments in the tournament. Aside from being a phenomenal all-rounder during his 15 years of play, he was also renowned for his sublime fielding ability.

In IPL 2018, however, he pulled off quite possibly his best catch in the Qualifier 1 match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings when Yusuf Pathan came to bat. SRH was in trouble at 69/5, and Pathan was brought in to build innings. In the 15th over, Bravo sent down a fuller ball to Pathan, who went for the shot, only to send it hard and low toward Bravo. The CSK all-rounder reacted quickly, reaching the ball in the middle of his follow-through and amazingly holding on to it, almost performing a cartwheel!
