Ziva Dhoni, the daughter of Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni, ran to her father for a hug on Tuesday. CSK beat Gujarat Titans by 15 runs in Qualifier 1 to secure a spot in the IPL 2023 final.
The adorable father daughter conversation occurred during the post match presentation, in which the CSK players swept practically all of the awards.

In front of a loud Chepauk crowd, CSK put on another strong performance against reigning champions GT. On a sluggish two paced pitch, Chennai compiled a comfortable 172/7 after being asked to bat first. Ruturaj Gaikwad led the way with a spectacular 60 off 44 deliveries.
In contrast, the GT hitters struggled throughout their innings until a late burst by Rashid Khan gave the margin of loss some respectability. Four Chennai bowlers took two wickets each as the bowling unit worked together to strangle the GT batting.
Gaikwad was named Player of the Match for his magnificent knock on a challenging ground.
CSK captain MS Dhoni on IPL Final
Making it to the final of a major competition like the IPL, especially in a 10-team format, is a commendable accomplishment. This is their tenth final in 14 years, four more than the second best Mumbai Indians.
MS Dhoni said during the post-game presentation:
“IPL is too big to say it’s just another final. Used to be 8 top teams, now it’s 10. I won’t say it’s just another final. It’s hard work of 2 months. Everybody has contributed. GT are a fantastic team and they’ve chased very well, so the thought was to get them in. But it was a good toss to lose.”
The Mumbai Indians, Lucknow SuperGiants, and Gujarat Titans will now compete over the next several days for a chance to face the Super Kings in the final on May 28.
