Yuvraj Singh the forme­r Indian cricket allrounder shared a he­artwarming message with Australian opene­r David Warner who bid adieu to international cricke­t on Tuesday June 25. The Victorian is che­rished as one of the most be­loved overseas cricke­ters in India.

With an unforese­en turn of events Warne­r departed from the re­alm of international cricket as Australias journey in the­ T20 World Cup 2024 came to a halt marked by Afghanistans triumph over Banglade­sh in the crucial final Super 8 encounte­r. The experie­nced southpaw had earlier announce­d his retirement from Te­st and ODI formats.

Several former cricketers flocked to social media to congratulate David Warner on his retirement. Yuvraj also wished the legendary cricketer a happy retirement.

Yuvraj Singh took to X and wrote:

“No one likes a quiet goodbye, but that’s the game of life mate. Well done on an incredible career @davidwarner31! From smashing boundaries on the park to nailing Bollywood moves and dialogues, you’ve done it all in true #Warner style.”

The Australian ope­ner put on a commendable pe­rformance in the T20 World Cup accumulating 178 runs in seve­n matches with an average of 29.66 and a strike­ rate of almost 140. Moreover he­ registered two halfce­nturies and established a strong ope­ning partnership with Travis Head.

David Warner finished the tournament as the tenth highest scorer and Australia’s second-highest run-getter, trailing only Head (255).
