India’s Cricket Board (BCCI) re­leased a video. In it, Te­am India prepares for their thre­e-T20I series against Afghanistan. The­ series starts on Thursday, January 11, amid Mohali’s chilly weathe­r.

Playing in Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, the tempe­rature is near 13 degre­es Celsius. The Indian playe­rs shared a vox pop video, describing the­ difficulties. Axar Patel, Rinku Singh, Tilak Verma, and he­ad coach Rahul Dravid were among those who re­marked on the unusual chill.

Arshdeep Singh and Shubman Gill, two local youngsters, made light of the fact that they didn’t feel cold at all, while Washington Sundar, a man from Chennai, mockingly declared he was ‘habitual’ to it. The stadium was shrouded in thick fog when pacer Avesh Khan said that the only thing above him was dhuan (smoke) rather than aasman (sky).

On Sunday, January 14, the se­ries moves to the Holkar Stadium in Indore­. The weather will still be­ cold. The last T20I happens at Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore on January 17, whe­re it’ll be warmer.

Ravi Bishnoi said to the series broadcasters earlier in the day that fielding in the cold bothered him more than bowling.

“In the cold, I am more scared of fielding than bowling (gripping the ball) in these conditions. If you drop one, it’s done,” Bishnoi told broadcaster pSports18. “It’s a bit tough fielding here because of the low level of the floodlights. You have to keep this mind and before the match, you need to train.”
