The Rajasthan Royals pace bowler Avesh Khan amusingly raised captain Sanju Samson’s gloves high after taking a spectacular catch during their IPL 2024 match against the Kolkata Knight Riders on Tuesday. This playful action left the Kerala-born cricketer laughing heartily.
Incidentally, the gesture refers to Samson’s lost catch against the Punjab Kings, which occurred after a collision with Avesh. After making a one-handed catch to get rid of Phil Salt at Eden Gardens, Avesh chose to reveal Samson’s gloves to the dressing room, suggesting that he is also a terrific catcher.
With Avesh Khan’s removal of the hazardous Salt, the Royals breathed a sigh of relief, given Riyan Parag’s earlier missed opportunity.

Sanju Samson’s Team Leads IPL 2024 Points Table
Meanwhile, Sanju Samson’s team leads the points table after winning five of six matches. The inaugural IPL winners defeated the Lucknow Super Giants first, then the Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians, and Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
Their lone setback came against the Gujarat Titans, who chased down a difficult 197 until Rashid Khan hit a last-ball boundary to seal the victory for his team. Nonetheless, they bounced back with a dramatic victory over the Punjab Kings.
The Kolkata team is now placed second on the points tally. They won four out of five matches so far. Their only loss came against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Before losing to CSK, they had victories over SunRisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and Delhi Capitals. They also defeated the Super Giants successfully.
