Virat Kohli, the star batsman for Team India, had to forego his education to pursue a career in sports, a common occurrence for many cricketers. Despite being unable to continue his studies after completing his 12th grade in Delhi due to his passion for cricket, Kohli worked hard and became a successful athlete. On March 30, Kohli sparked an interesting conversation by sharing his 10th grade marksheet.

The marksheet Virat Kohli shared was from his time at Savior Convent School in Paschim Vihar, which he passed in 2004. The document contained grades for subjects such as English, Hindi, Science and Technology, Mathematics, Social Sciences, and Introductory IT (Information Technology). Notably, Kohli’s marksheet did not mention his success in sports, despite his status as a superstar in the field. Kohli wrote on the Koo app, “It’s funny how the things that add the least to your marksheet, add the most to your character. #LetThereBeSport.”

Kohli shared his marksheet as part of PUMA’s ‘Let There Be Sport’ campaign, which aims to raise awareness about the significance of sports alongside traditional studies. Kohli’s picture quickly went viral on social media. As one of the most respected athletes in the world, Kohli’s story of success despite obstacles is truly inspiring.

At 34 years old, Virat Kohli remains one of the most inspiring and physically fit figures in modern-day cricket. Following a six-week break from the sport in August 2022, he returned to top form. Since his comeback during the Asia Cup, Kohli has scored five centuries across different formats and has become the second-highest century-scorer in international cricket with 75 centuries, trailing only Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 100.

As he prepares for the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), where he will play for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Kohli will be hoping to continue his excellent performance and finally end his 15-year-long search for a championship title.
