Recently, a Virat Kohli video made waves online. It showed his response to India’s 2023 ODI World Cup final loss to Australia. This defeat left Indian cricket enthusiasts feeling devastated. The Indian team displayed exceptional skill during the competition, yet couldn’t clinch the final victory.

Virat Kohli’s batting talent shone brightly in the tournament, scoring 765 runs with an impressive average of 95.62. He even scored three centuries and six half-centuries. Notably, he broke Sachin Tendulkar’s record for the most runs (673) in a single ODI World Cup edition, making international cricket history.

Unfortunately, his top Player of the Tournament performance didn’t help India secure the final win. The Indian team set a score of 240 in their 50 overs in the beginning. Australia’s victory was powered by Travis Head’s bold batting, achieving their goal (241) saving six players and seven overs.

The Indian players were disheartened as Australia scored the winning runs. With disappointment, Virat Kohli was observed taking off his cap and pushing aside the bails. A video of the player’s response at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad following the final was just posted on Instagram by a fan.

Ex-Indian cricket player Subramaniam Badrinath is puzzled. Why wasn’t Virat Kohli made Test captain once more? Kohli quit leading the team due to an assumed clash with the higher-ups post the 2021-22 Test match versus South Africa. Post that, Rohit Sharma was handed the leadership for all game types.

Badrinath stated in a video posted on his YouTube account that he would want to see Virat Kohli return to the Test captaincy.

“Kohli has a great record as a test leader. He has scored more than 5000 runs with an average of 52 as a captain. He has 40 wins and 17 losses in 68 tests. He led us to a tremendous victory in the Australia series. He has the most wins as Test captain after Graeme Smith, Ricky Ponting and Steve Waugh.”

Subramaniam Badrinath added:

“Why is he (Virat) not the captain of the Test team? I want to raise this valid question. He is a better test batter. There is no comparison between Virat and Rohit Sharma. He is a big player in terms of Test cricket. He has scored runs everywhere.
