Virat Kohli of squad India made his T20I squad comeback after a 14-month absence. He was included on the Afghanistan three-game home series roster.

The seasoned player did not participate in any 2023 Twenty20 International matches. Because of the World Test Championship final and the 50-over World Cup, he concentrated on the other two forms.

The management of the Indian team turned once again to Kohli, who has been the team’s mainstay in all forms for many years, with the 2024 T20 World Cup rapidly approaching.

He immediately raised the stakes in his return game, demonstrating a great deal of intent. In the second T20I, Kohli struck for a strike rate of 181.25, scoring 28 runs off only 16 balls.

Nevertheless, he was unable to produce a comparable performance in the third and last match. The 35-year-old attempted to attack the first ball he encountered but was dismissed for a golden duck.

Soon, we’ll see Kohli on the cricket field again. He’s slated for the five-home Test series India has against England. The very first match? It’s happening at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, in Hyderabad. Be ready to cheer from January 25 to 29.
