Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s superstar Virat Kohli vowed never to abandon the franchise. He hopes 2023 will finally bring them IPL glory. The batting legend expressed his desire for devoted fans to witness their team’s long-awaited championship triumph.
The RCB squad has faced defeat three times in final clashes. They’ve been chasing that illusive trophy win. The last time they reached the final was 2016, facing disappointment against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Kohli stated that winning the IPL championship has become his aim during the RCB Unbox event on Tuesday:
The 35-year-old was the fourth-highest run-getter in the IPL 2023, scoring 639 runs in 14 matches, average 53.25 and hitting at an impressive 139.25, including two hundreds. However, the Royal Challengers just missed making the playoffs.
“I am pretty happy and excited to be back” – Virat Kohli
In an earlier chat with RCB.tv, the former captain stated that he feels reinvigorated after a few months of normalcy. The veteran added:
Kohli, age 35, missed the home Test matches versus England. Reason: He and Anushka awaited their second baby. After resting for two full months, fans can expect big scores from Kohli again.
