IPL final among the Chennai Super Kings and the Gujarat Titans has been rescheduled for Monday, May 29. It will take place in Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium.

This happened after a night of continuous rain that ruined the IPL final (Sunday, May 28). The deadline for a five-over game each side was 12:06 a.m., but officials chose to postpone the final until the next day.

At 11:02 pm, IPL tweeted a photo of the stadium’s big screen.

Fans’ reactions to the aforementioned situation were divided. Some fans were ecstatic that they would be able to see a full 20-over IPL final game on reserve day. Others speculated about MS Dhoni’s future, with one fan tweeting:

Rain is expected to return on Monday, May 29th, according to the weather prediction. According to BBC Weather, there is a 14 percent probability of rain between 6.30 pm IST to 00:30 pm IST. Fans will be hoping for a full IPL final game on Monday

The cut-off time for a minimum five-over game each side is 12:06 a.m. If that is not possible, there will be a super over. If that is not feasible, the winner will be the side that finished better in the league stage, i.e., GT.

GT is looking to win back to back championships after defeating RR by seven wickets previous year. CSK, on the other hand, is looking for the fifth trophy as an appropriate memorial to Ambati Rayudu. The right-handed hitter has declared that the 2023 IPL final will be his final T20 game.
