Suryakumar Yadav took advantage of the occasion, scoring a reasonable half-century to lead India to victory in 18.2 overs. Shivam Dube (31*) was a great foil for him, as they put on an undefeated 72-run partnership for the fourth wicket.

“We knew it was going to be a tough task scoring those many runs. Credit to us that we held our nerves till the end. Credit to Surya and Dube for taking the game to the end and playing mature knocks.

“We have played cricket with a lot of these boys (in the USA team) and I wish them the best. They are hardworking guys and they are making their mark in this country. Bowlers had to take the lead; we knew that run scoring would not have been easy.”
