Shivam Dube of Te­am India exited premature­ly in the squads 2024 T20 World Cup encounter against Afghanistan in Barbados on Thursday June­ 20. Regrettably the southpaw couldnt le­ave a lasting impression succumbing after scoring a me­re 10 runs from seven de­liveries.

Rohit Sharma won the toss for the Men in Blue and decided to bat first. After losing early wickets, the team’s position became dangerous. Dube came out to bat when India were 62/3 after 8.3 overs.

With Afghanistan’s spinners bowling in tandem, the situation is set for Dube, who has been particularly effective against spin in his Indian Premier League (IPL) career. He showed promise by hitting a big six off Noor Ahmad’s bowling in the tenth over.

However, he was removed in the next over. Afghanistan skipper Rashid Khan defeated the flamboyant hitter, bowling him leg before wicket.

Rashid made a quicker delivery. Dube was undone by the turn and added pace, and the ball crashed into the pads. While the on-field umpire ruled him not out, the cunning spinner used the DRS, and the verdict was reversed.
