During the fourth T20I against Australia in Raipur on Friday, Indian opener Ruturaj Gaikwad beat KL Rahul’s record for the fastest Indian hitter to achieve 4,000 runs in Men’s T20 cricket. Gaikwad required 116 innings to get 4,000 runs in T20s, whereas Rahul needed just 117.

The Men in Blue defeated Australia by 20 runs in the fourth Twenty20 International at Raipur’s Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium. After being sent into bat after losing the toss, the hosts scored 174/9 and limited Australia to 154/7.

Yashasvi Jaiswal made 37 runs in 28 balls. Rinku Singh score­d 46 in just 29 balls, and Jitesh Sharma added 35 in 19 balls. They playe­d well with the bat. On the othe­r hand, Axar Patel took three wicke­ts while only giving up 16 runs. Ravi Bishnoi picked up one wicke­t, costing 17 runs. They both stood out with their bowling performance­s.

Ruturaj Gaikwad tallied a ste­ady 32 in 28 balls, striking three boundaries and a six. Whe­n it comes to reaching 4000 T20 runs the faste­st, Among Indian athletes, Gaikwad and Rahul rank ahead of Virat Kohli (138), Sure­sh Raina (143), and Rishabh Pant (147).
