Rohit Sharma posted a photo of Mumbai’s terrible air quality ahead of India’s 2023 World Cup match vs Sri Lanka. The Indian captain inquired about the air quality with the locals.

India will play nine league matches in nine different cities during the 2023 World Cup. The Men in Blue have arrived in Mumbai ahead of their upcoming encounter against Sri Lanka at the Wankhede Stadium.

Our Indian team took a plane­ ride from Lucknow to Mumbai for the match. En route, Rohit Sharma snappe­d a picture from the plane window. He­ put it up on his Instagram story with a caption:

“Mumbai, yeh kya ho gaya? (Mumbai, what happened?)

Sharma also included a masked emoji, indicating that he was discussing the city’s rising pollution levels. He also included a disappointed face emoji, implying that he was dissatisfied with the deterioration of air quality.

On Thursday, the Indian squad will face Sri Lanka in the seventh game of the 2023 World Cup in Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.

Rohit Sharma grew raised in the city and now captains the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League. This would be his first World Cup as captain of India at this location.

So far, India has won all six matches under Sharma’s captaincy. Given that the island country is coming off a setback to Afghanistan, they will start as favorites to beat Sri Lanka as well.
