On June 24, India defeated Australia in their third and final Super 8 encounter at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in Gros Islet, St Lucia, and Rohit Sharma was named Player of the encounter.

Opening the innings, Rohit smashed 92 off 41 balls against Australia at St Lucia, helping India score 205-5 in 20 overs. The Hitman hit seven fours and eight sixes in his innings, falling just short of a well-deserved century. Suryakumar Yadav also contributed with a fast 31 from 16.

Australia were held to 181-7 in the chase, despite Travis Head’s 76 from 43 balls. Arshdeep Singh led the way with 3-37, while Kuldeep Yadav took 2-24 from four overs.
