Rohit Sharma the skipper of India kickstarted the Men in Blue in a blazing manner against Bangladesh during their current 2024 T20 World Cup clash in Antigua on a Saturday (June 22). With a remarkable display of power he smashed 23 runs off just 11 deliveries including a striking six and three boundaries. It was a sight to behold as Rohit sent the ball sailing over the boundary ropes off Shakib Al Hasan’s delivery in the fourth over of Indias innings.
Shakib produced a pitched-up delivery, which Rohit Sharma smacked for a 97-metre six at long-on. The 37-year-old timed the shot perfectly, and the ball landed on the second tier, leaving everyone in awe.
Watch the shot below:
Jaker Ali caught Rohit Sharma off Shakib in the same over. He and Virat Kohli recorded a first wicket partnership of 39 runs.
Rohit had failed to meet expectations in his last few innings, scoring 13, 3, and 8 against Pakistan, USA, and Afghanistan, respectively. He did, however, record an unbroken 52 against Ireland.
Bangladesh Strikes Early Against India in 2024 T20 World Cup Super-8 Match
Early in the battle Bangladesh makes a significant breakthrough as Rohit Sharma the Indian skipper chooses to take a defensive stance sending the opposition to bat first during the 2024 T20 World Cup Super8 encounter.
As I pen down these words Indias score stands at 833 after completing 10 overs with Rishabh Pant and Shivam Dube in the middle battling it out.
Rohit Sharma team is gearing up after a resounding 47-run triumph over Afghanistan in their opening Super 8 encounter. They are resolute in continuing their winning streak before challenging the reigning 2021 champions Australia in the upcoming showdown at the 2024 T20 World Cup.
Bangladesh, on the other side, fell to Australia by 28 runs in a rain-affected game using the DLS technique. To stay in the ICC event, they must win against India.
Bangladesh have failed to defeat India in T20 World Cups. They have lost each of their four games against the Men in Blue.
