Ravindra Jadeja, an Indian cricket player, and his wife Rivaba, a political figure, have been thrust into the spotlight. This stems from serious accusations made against them by Jadeja’s father in a recent interview with a Gujarati newspaper.
In a conversation with ‘Divya Bhaskar’ not long ago, Anirudhsinh Ravindra Jadeja, Ravindra’s father, accused him and Rivaba of cutting off all family ties. Anirudhsinh pointed a finger at Rivaba for sparking family conflict. He claimed that within three months of their wedding, she demanded everything be put in her name.
Ravindra Jadeja responded to the shocking interview on his own social media profile, dismissing the charges as an effort to damage his wife’s reputation. A video has also gone popular on social media, showing Rivaba losing her cool when a journalist asks a question regarding her father-in-law’s contentious interview.
In May 2023, Rivaba made headlines for an entirely different reason. A video of her massaging her husband Jadeja’s feet following the Indian Premier League (IPL) final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad went popular on social media.
The clip received mixed reviews. While some praised Rivaba for her gesture, a few others thought it was perfectly typical.
Ravindra Jadeja was one of the heroes of the IPL 2023 final, which saw Chennai Super Kings (CSK) overcome Gujarat Titans (GT) in a last-ball thriller. Chasing a DLS goal of 171 in 15 overs, CSK needed 10 off the final two balls to win. Jadeja struck the last ball from GT pacer Mohit Sharma for a six over long-on before clipping the final ball to the left of short fine leg for the championship-clinching boundary.
With the victory, the MS Dhoni-led Chennai franchise tied the Mumbai Indians’ (MI) record of five IPL titles.
Ravindra Jadeja returns to India squad for final three England Tests
Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja was just picked to the Indian side for the final three Tests against England.
At age 35, he scored 87 during the initial innings of Hyderabad’s first Test. But, a hamstring injury benched him for Visakhapatnam’s second Test. He got hurt batting during Hyderabad’s second innings.
Both Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul, who missed the second Test against England owing to a quadriceps issue, have been added to the team for the remaining matches. However, their involvement is subject to medical approval.
