Ravi Shastri was pretty loud about the recent Hardik Pandya-Rohit Sharma leadership feud at Mumbai Indians.

For the uninitiated, Pandya took up MI’s captaincy from Rohit after the five-time winners signed the former Gujarat Titans captain in a big trade deal ahead of IPL 2024.

Shastri believed MI should have handled the captaincy crisis better, but he also stated that it was the team’s responsibility and that no one should intervene in franchise business.

“The captaincy issue between Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya could’ve been handled better, but it is the owners call who they want as the captain. They spend the money.”

Pandya’s captaincy adventure began in the exact opposite way that it ended when he led GT. MI lost three consecutive matches and failed to get going in the IPL 2024.

Mumbai eventually secured their first win under Hardik Pandya leadership in their last match against the Delhi Capitals, thanks to a fantastic performance with both bat and ball.

MI is seventh in the 10-team league, having lost three and won one of four games.
