Stoinis’ strike handed Lucknow Supe­r Giants further dominance over last ye­ar’s champions Chennai Super Kings in this high-stakes clash. The­ all-rounder’s key wicket re­inforced LSG’s grip on proceedings.

The dismissal occurred in the 12th over of CSK’s innings. Stoinis produced a short delivery, and Shivam Dube attempted a hard pull to mid-wicket. The left-hander, however, failed to center the delivery and wound up with an edge that soared high inside the 30-yard circle. KL Rahul, the LSG skipper, made the call and completed the catch.

With the wicket, LSG reduced the visitors to 87/4 after 11.1 overs.

If you didn’t know, Shivam Dube’s pe­rformance has been outstanding. He­ scored 245 runs in seven matche­s. That included two half-centuries against Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians. His strike­ rate was a remarkable 157.

LSG dominating CSK in IPL 2024 clash

LSG are dominating the Super Kings owing to their outstanding bowling performance after captain Rahul won the toss and elected to bowl first in the IPL on Friday. The five-time winners were reduced to 90/5 after 12.2 overs.

At the time of writing, CSK had 105/5 after 15 overs, with Moeen Ali and Ravindra Jadeja at the crease. Sameer Rizvi was the final hitter out, stumped by Rahul off Krunal Pandya.

Pandya also removed Ajinkya Rahane, who hit 36 runs off 24. Mohsin Khan and Yash Thakur dismissed Rachin Ravindra (golden duck) and skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad (17 from 13), respectively.
