SRH, captained by Pat Cummins, made two changes against LSG after losing by seven wickets to the Mumbai Indians in their previous IPL encounter. Cummins was frustrated after losing the coin toss, but remained confident in his team’s ability to produce. He said:
“We would have batted as well. But we have won both ways here and hence not too upset. Hard to know (a good score) as it has been pretty high scoring. It is pretty tough (to qualify for the playoffs) and you have to keep winning till the end, we have not nailed it in the last couple of games and it is time to change that.”

Meanwhile, LSG made a few adjustments after losing to the Kolkata Knight Riders by 98 runs. Quinton de Kock and Krishnappa Gowtham replaced Ashton Turner and Mohsin Khan, who were injured.
So far, the two clubs have won six out of eleven games. They are fourth and sixth in the points rankings, according to net run rate.
