Shakib Al Hasan is the test captain for Bangladesh. On Jan 8th, during a Bangladesh Premier League match, Shakib faced an alleged wide ball which the umpire dismissed as wide. The veteran got so furious about this decision of the umpire that he walked up to him and showcased his displeasure with the decision. Shakib was seen arguing with the umpire, which looked unprofessional and unwarranted.

During the 3rd Match of the Bangladesh Premier League, the match was between Khulna Tigers and Fortune Barishal at Dhaka. In the 16th over, Bangladesh pacer Rejaur Rahman Raja bowled a slower bouncer to Shakib, which went above his head. However, the umpire did not signal it as a wide ball and thus, leading to the entire controversy. Shakib started yelling at the ground umpire and got into a heated argument with him, making things quite uncomfortable for everyone.

However, it is to be appreciated that Shakib al Hasan used his aggression constructively as he finished his innings at 67 off 32. Right after the argument with the umpire, Shakib smashed a six over the midwicket to Rejaur. He was unstoppable after that and made a 50 in just 26 balls. Mashrafe Mortaza put a stop to his innings in the 20th over.

This was not the first time Shakib had shown aggressive and conflicting behaviour on the ground. There have been multiple incidents of such behaviour, and now Shakib Al Hasan comes to us as a frustrated cricketer rather than a gentleman. Hasan should accept the fact that he is not above the rules of cricket and should strive to obey them. Further, he should be more respectful to his fellow cricketers and umpires and uphold the sportsmanship spirit in his gameplay. His strong gestures and fuming arguments seem highly disrespectful to the umpires.
