Bangladesh’s young bowling sensation Nahid Rana is in the thrill of having his first wicket haul in his Test career. Nahid’s sensational form helped Bangladesh come back strong in the WI vs BAN 2nd Test, which is taking place in Jamaica.
Bangladesh batted first but could only score 164 runs in the first innings. Defending this vulnerable total, Nahid Rana, who is just 22 years old, showcased some amazing spells that dethroned the Caribbean batters for a score of 146.
Kraigg Brathwaite, Mikyle Louis, Kavem Hodge, Alzarri Joseph, and Kemar Roach are the West Indians who bent their knees in front of Nahid.
In the second innings, Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Shadman Islam shone as Bangladesh reached a score of 193 while losing 5 wickets. This gives them an overall lead of 211 runs at stumps on the 3rd day.
Nahid Rana Talks After Bagging 1st Fifer in Test
Nahid Rana couldn’t hold his excitement of bagging his first fifer, saying:
“Alhamdulillah (for my maiden five-wicket haul). I did not try too many things, just worked on seeing how I can bowl without giving room to the batters and how to bowl in different situations. I feel that on this wicket without trying too much if you bowl line to line without giving room to the batters, at that point the batters try a lot of things.”
Nahid also said that adding a 250-run lead in the second innings would do enough to bring the match home.
“I think we are in good position, and if we can score over 250 it will be difficult to bat for the batters on Day 4 because there will be uneven bounce in the wicket while there will be turn for the spinners.” concluded the right-arm fast bowler.
