During the IPL 2024 season a devoted fan dashed onto the field reflecting on a touching encounter with the esteemed MS Dhoni from Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The memorable incident unfolded while MS Dhoni was displaying his skills for CSK against Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Overwhelmed with admiration the fan hurried onto the pitch to meet his idol humbly falling at his feet.
MS Dhoni too had some fun, attempting to escape the pitch invader before ultimately hugging him. In a video that has gone popular on social media, the fan speaks with Focused Indian and describes his discussion with Dhoni.
The fan further said that MS Dhoni informed him that he would handle the former’s nose surgery. This is what the fan said:
“I went mad. I touched his feet. He is a legend, I had tears in my eyes. He asked me why I was breathing heavily. I had jumped the fence, ran onto the pitch and I was breathing heavily. I told him about a problem with my nose. He said: ‘Teri surgery ka mai dekh lunga. Tujhe kuch nahi hoga, tu ghabara mat. Mai tujhe kuch nahi hone dunga (I will take care of your surgery. Don’t worry. I will not let anything happen to you’).”

The fan also claimed that he was held by security. Dhoni then told them not to treat him forcefully and to escort him off the field with dignity.
CSK CEO hopeful of MS Dhoni playing IPL 2025
CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan recently discussed MS Dhoni’s future as a Chennai player. While many have speculated that Dhoni had played his farewell IPL match, Viswanathan is expecting a reaction from the renowned wicketkeeper. Personally, he hoped Dhoni will return to play in the IPL 2025.
Here is what he stated in a video uploaded by CSK:
“See, the question for us is, we’ve always respected the decisions taken by MS. We have left it to him. And as all of you know, he has always taken his decisions and announced them at the appropriate time. We are very, very hopeful that he will be available for CSK next year. That is the view and the expectations of fans and me. That’s the case.”
