KL Rahul, Indian cricket’s wicket-keeper batsman, should be healthy by the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) start. He plays for the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Rahul’s recent quadriceps problem made him miss most of the current England Test series in India.

KL Rahul was recently ruled out of the fifth and final Test against Ben Stokes and Co. while in England seeking medical advice on his condition. The wicket-keeper batsman underwent surgery in 2023 after sustaining a full tear midway through the IPL season.

Despite recovering in time for the 2023 Asia Cup and ODI World Cup, Rahul’s workload was tightly controlled. While he played as a keeper-batsman for India during the South Africa tour, he was reverted to his former status as a pure hitter during the home series with England.

According to information, Rahul is back in India. He’s started his recovery plan at the National Cricket Academy, Bangalore.

“He had consulted top medical experts in London. He returned to India on Sunday and has checked into the BCCI’s National Cricket Academy in Bangalore for rehab. He should get the Return to Play certificate from the NCA soon. He is keen to prove his worth in the IPL as he’s in line for selection in India’s T20 World Cup team as a ‘keeper-bat,” a source told TOI.

KL Rahul’s selection for the 2024 T20 World Cup’s Indian squad hinges on multiple aspects. The fact that he hasn’t taken part in any T20I since the last semi-final match versus England two years ago is significant.

The wicket-keeper batter has scored the most of his team’s runs at the top of the order in recent seasons. However, given the LSG and Indian camps’ loaded opening lineups, KL Rahul is allegedly eyeing a move to the middle order.

With Quinton de Kock and Evin Lewis, as well as the newly acquired Devdutt Padikkal, presenting as good opening contenders, the captain may tumble down the batting order.

He will need to make a significant statement throughout his 2024 campaign if he wants to catch the selectors’ attention ahead of the World Cup team selection.
