[Watch] Jasprit Bumrah’s unplayable delivery ends England’s resistance, India win 2nd Test by 106 runs

Jasprit Bumrah, Team India’s bowler, finished the second Test against England in Vishakapatnam with style. The spinner, who was excellent throughout the Test, broke Tom Hartley’s defense in the 70th over of the innings, bringing India even at 1-1 with a historic 106-run victory.

Jasprit Bumrah had already stolen Ben Foakes’ wicket with a wonderfully disguised slower delivery, propelling India to victory. With Hartley’s wicket to seal the victory, the pacer completed with outstanding numbers of 3-46, effectively completing the match with nine wickets.

Hartley had kept a fair vigil while the lower order disintegrated around him, but he was unable to cope with the delivery delivered from around the wicket, which moved slightly after pitching. The ball struck the thigh pad first and deflected to uproot the off-stump, capping an entertaining Test match.

Jasprit Bumrah’s achievement is a first, capturing nine wickets in a home game. Before, his record stood at eight, set in the pink ball Test against Sri Lanka. That was at Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium a few years ago.

Furthermore, his match stats of 9-91 from the second Test are only statistically superior to his performance against Australia in the 2018 Boxing Day Test, when he finished with 9-86.
