Upon the release of the ICC rankings, Jasprit Bumrah shared a meme on his Instagram story. It highlighted the difference in support before and after his No. 1 ranking achievement. He became the first Indian pacer to top the Test cricket rankings. Here is his meme:
In the Vizag and Hyderabad tests against England, Jasprit Bumrah got nine and six wickets. This feat made him India’s quickest pacer to achieve 150 wickets. His superb second Test 9/91 performance and India’s 106-run win earned him Player of the Series title. This evened out the five-match series at 1-1 with the visitors.
At 30, this athlete already snatched up 12 wickets during a tw0-game Test in South Africa, which ended evenly split.
Thanks to Bumrah’s brilliant throws, he surpassed Pat Cummins, Kagiso Rabada and Ravichandran Ashwin, reaching 881 rating score. Therefore, he joined a revered Indian quartet, alongside Bishan Singh Bedi, Ravindra Jadeja and Ashwin.
Overall, Jasprit Bumrah has 155 wickets in 34 Tests, including ten five-wicket hauls.
