Ishan Kishan, a Mumbai Indians (MI) wicketkeeper batter, has joined the squad camp ahead of the next IPL 2024 season. Several players, including recently chosen captain Hardik Pandya, have already started practicing in the nets under the watchful eye of MI coaches.

MI took to Instagram on Wednesday (March 13) to inform supporters of Ishan Kishan’s presence at the team’s training with a hilarious video. In the video, the 25-year-old is seen doing a fun bottle-flip challenge before being startled by a ghost in the mirror and fleeing.

Former Indian batter Aakash Chopra recently stated that Ishan Kishan will be eager to perform well because he has been out of action for some time and has also lost his central contract.

Chopra said that Kishan will attempt to take advantage of opportunities in the IPL to put himself back in contention for international cricket. Chopra stated in a video uploaded on his YouTube channel:

“Ishan Kishan will be hungry, as he has not got a central contract. This is the only thing he is playing. What else is he playing? Either he has himself opted not to play, or he won’t be selected now. So this is his chance. If you make the IPL your own, you have chances of going forward. Then there is, of course, Wankhede’s flat pitch. The ball will come nicely onto the bat and go far.”

On Kishan’s Mumbai Indians opening partner Rohit Sharma, he added:

“You have released Rohit Sharma from captaincy duties. When we talk about a top-class player like Rohit Sharma, we say that a 600-run season will be there for sure. However, he has never had a 600-run season. This could be that season. There is nothing to prove per se, but, then, there is a lot to prove. I feel he will hit a lot as he is not the captain.”
