India Predicted XI vs Sri Lanka for the 3rd T20I: For India, the 3rd match will give a fair chance to the players who couldn’t get into the XI in the previous games. One reason is that the visitors have already cushioned themselves with a comfortable 2-0 lead and sealed the 3-match series.

The other reason could be the ODI series that’s going to kickstart right after the T20Is. Many, including wicketkeeper batters Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill, are in the ODI squad as well. Some of the players have been playing a lot of cricket in the last few months. Giving them rest and bringing on players who were denied tier chances to play would be a fair thing to do. Let’s hope for the probable XI India will assemble against Lanka in the 3rd T20I.

Shubman Gill was out in the second T20I due to a muscle spasm. Instead of him, wicketkeeper batter Sanju Samson filled the shoes along with Yashaswi Jaiswal. But Gill is most likely to return to the XI and will accompany Jaiswal in the opening.

Middle-Order

In the middle, Rishab Pant has not been at his best for some time. Pant batting at 4 is also not helping him, as that is the time when spinners turn up, and Rishab always struggles against the spin.

Moreover, he is included in the ODI squad as a wicketkeeper batter along with KL Rahul. So naturally, India might give a fair chance to Samson in his desired middle order rather than posting him in the opening position.

Taking Gambhir’s words, Samson, skill-wise, is the best wicketkeeper batter the country has. The player has not been getting enough chances to cement his position in the national squad. Giving him a chance would be a positive sight for the Indian team.

Hardik Pandya, who also played in the first two games, might make way for Shivam Dube. This will be primarily because Hardik, with his contribution to both batting and bowling, would need to offload some of the workload to stay fit.

The middle order will likely have Sanju Samson, Suryakumar Yadav, Riyan Parag, Shivam Dube, Washington Sunder, and Rinku Singh.

Lower-Order

Khaleel Ahmed might step in, as Arshdeep Singh has been pretty active in the last couple of months, including playing in the T20 World Cup. Ravi Bishnoi will retain his position as the lead spinner, while Siraj might be given another chance to regain his form.
