The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has finalized the specifics of the pre-match show that will take place before of the India vs. Pakistan 2023 World Cup match on Saturday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Some well-known Indian singers will perform during the program.
Rather surprisingly, there was no opening ceremony held ahead of the 2023 World Cup opener at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 5. A captains’ day event was organized a day before the start of the tournament, which saw all 10 captains answering questions from host Ravi Shastri and later the journalists.
BCCI’s official social media accounts have now given out details of the pre-game event, which will precede the World Cup match between India and Pakistan in Ahmedabad. As per BCCI’s posts, renowned singers Sukhwinder Singh, Shankar Mahadevan, and Arijit Singh will be part of a “musical odyssey”.
The cricket stadium named after the Indian Prime Minister, in Ahmedabad, will host an event before the cricket match, starting at 12:30 PM IST. The India-Pakistan cricket match in the World Cup will begin at 2:00 PM IST.
Shubman Gill’s fitness a concern for India before Pakistan World Cup clash
The Men in Blue have made an outstanding start to their 2023 World Cup campaign, winning their first two games. The hosts defeated Australia by six wickets in their opening match at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium. They bowled first and limited Australia to 199 before recovering from 2/3 in the chase thanks to Virat Kohli (85) and KL Rahul (97*).
In their next encounter, India trounced Afghanistan by an eight-wicket margin in Delhi. They bowled first once more and limited Afghanistan to 272/8. In response, India won in 35 overs thanks to skipper Rohit Sharma’s 131 off 84 balls.
Opener Shubman Gill missed both matches due to illness. After being released from the hospital in Chennai, he arrived in Ahmedabad, where India will face Pakistan on Saturday.
According to reports, the 24-year-old practiced batting for an hour on Thursday and also took part in some practice sessions for fielding. However, there is still no confirmation about the chances of his participation in the match against Pakistan.
Gill has a fantastic record for India in one-day cricket. He has scored 1917 runs in 35 matches at an average of 66.10 and a strike rate of 102.84, with six hundreds and nine fifties.
