Yuvraj Singh helped India win the 2011 cricket World Cup at home. He played a big part with both batting and bowling, being named the best player of the tournament. Some innings had long scores while others were short. His bowling ranged from many runs to just a few.

Yuvraj Singh took 15 wickets in nine matches and amassed 362 runs. Despite Yuvraj’s outstanding achievements at the main event, teammate Gautam Gambhir feels that he wasn’t given enough credit.

Gambhir stated on the ANI podcast:

“You know it. You please tell me that one player Yuvraj Singh who was Man of the Tournament in 2011, how many people talk about him. Why? Probably he does not have a good PR agency. Probably this word ‘underrated’ is a very unfair word. It is actually under-shown, if you won’t show the people, then they won’t know and you keep showing one person, then he will become a brand.”

Yuvraj participated in the 2011 World Cup despite being diagnosed with cancer. He announced his retirement from all forms of international cricket in June 2019 after a distinguished career.
