Hardik Pandya hit in his first over to maintain India’s lead after the powerplay in the current 2024 T20 World Cup match against Ireland. On Wednesday, June 5, the match will take place in New York’s Nassau County International Cricket Stadium.

The Men in Blue got off to a good start in the battle by bowling first. Arshdeep Singh struck with the new ball to remove both openers, leaving Ireland at 26/2 after six overs. Following the frontline pacers’ new ball charge, captain Rohit Sharma introduced all-rounder Hardik Pandya into the attack.

The right-arm bowler struck quickly, taking the third wicket with the last delivery of the over. The fullish delivery enticed the right-handed Tucker to drive, but the ball cut back in quickly after pitching, breaching the big bat-pad gap to smash the middle stump and remove it.

Team India proceeded to pick up wickets in the middle overs, with Hardik Pandya also contributing. The all-rounder reacted with another wicket after being given the ninth over of the innings.

After allowing a six off the opening delivery, Pandya responded impressively, conceding only two runs off the following four deliveries. The right-arm pacer decided to complete the over with a length delivery outside off stump, forcing a drive from Campher. However, all he could do was edge it to Rishabh Pant behind the wickets.

Hardik Pandya was on a hat-trick after striking on the first ball of his third over. Mark Adair attempted to take the all-rounder on, but his miscued shot found Shivam Dube, who made an easy catch. The dismissal lowered Ireland’s score to 49-7 in the eleventh over.

Hardik Pandya bowled three overs in a recent warm-up match against Bangladesh at the same location, finishing with stats of 1-30 after three overs and also scoring a solid knock with the bat.
