Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni was greeted warmly by supporters as he departed Ahmedabad airport on Tuesday.
The great skipper won his sixth IPL title on Tuesday at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium.
CSK defeated Gujarat Titans in a dramatic IPL 2023 final Sunday night. MS Dhoni was out for a golden duck in the chase, but he made an impression in the first innings with a signature lightning quick stumping that sent Shubman Gill to the pavilion.
With the victory, Dhoni tied Rohit Sharma for the most IPL titles (five). The Super Kings won the IPL in 2010, 2011, 2018, 2021, and this year under his inspired leadership.
Dhoni was spotted leaving the city with his wife and kid at the airport on Tuesday evening. His admirers spotted him and showered him with affection by excitedly applauding for him.

Aakash Chopra praised MS Dhoni in a video posted on his YouTube channel after CSK defeated GT to win the IPL 2023.
He emphasised that Gujarat Titans featured outstanding players like Shubman Gill, Rashid Khan, and Mohammed Shami, who were the tournament’s top performers but fell to Dhoni’s CSK in the final.
“Think about it, Orange Cap – Shubman Gill, the top three wicket-takers in the tournament are from Gujarat – Mohammad Shami, Mohit Sharma and Rashid Khan, but who has the trophy, that’s the beauty of MS Dhoni and the Chennai franchise. He can touch mud and convert it into gold.”
