In a viral video on X a cricket fan clad in a Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) jersey was seen getting caught while stealing the match ball. The incident took place during KKRs home game against the Mumbai Indians (MI) on Saturday May 11.

Andre Russell hit a maximum in the long-on zone against Piyush Chawla in the ninth over, and the fan recovered the ball after it moved many rows back. However, because he intended to take the ball with him, officers recovered it and returned it to the pitch. In the background, a Mumbai fielder can be seen waiting for the ball.

Furthermore, when the fan felt he was free once they removed the ball, the officers threw him out of the stands.

While some on social media believed the officers were being harsh to the fan, others found it hilarious that BCCI only had one ball to complete the game.

Kolkata Knight Riders have brilliantly secured the top spot in the Indian Premier League 2024 showcasing exceptional allround performances consistently. Their outstanding 931 record in 13 games has earned them the first playoff spot. Whats truly exciting is their qualification for Qualifier 1 after a decade.

In the 2014 season, Gautam Gambhir’s squad finished second in the points standings and defeated Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) by 28 runs in Qualifier 1. They won their second IPL championship with a dramatic victory against Punjab in the final.

Its absolutely intriguing to witness if Shreyas Iyer and his team can uphold their impressive performance and secure that elusive championship theyve been pursuing for the past decade. Nevertheless they will feel the impact of missing their opening batsman Phil Salt who has returned to England for the T20I series against Pakistan.

However, seasoned hitter Nitish Rana has returned to the side after recuperating from a finger injury and is likely to score.
