The cricketers of India have amassed a huge online following. Millions of fans of Indian cricketers follow them on social media sites like Instagram, Facebook, & Twitter. They keep their supporters up-to-date and entertained by engaging in friendly banter with their teammates on Twitter.
Three instances of humorous banter between Indian cricketers on Twitter are provided. Twitter is excellent for social media users to show off their sense of humour.
1. Virender Sehwag and Parthiv Patel
Virender Sehwag, an Indian cricketer with great humour, is a fan favourite. He once tweeted a photo of hand-shaped rotis (flatbread) and explained that his daughter-in-law had made them in response to his request that she makes them by hand.
During the 2018 South African tour, Sehwag asked his former teammate Parthiv Patel if he had suitable wicketkeeping gloves or required a pair of rotis by quoting the tweet and tagging Patel. Patel responded by telling him to hold onto the rotis for later usage at home.
2. Mohammad Shami and Rishabh Pant
When it comes to humour, Rishabh Pant stands out. Two years ago, on Mohammed Shami’s birthday, the famous Indian cricketer sent a humorous birthday wish on social media. Pant cautioned Shami that time, like the ball out of his hands, was of the essence.
Shami wrote back two days later that no one could slow down the ball or his ageing, but there was a method for him to have a better body.
3. Cheteshwar Pujara and Ravichandran Ashwin
All-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin, who bowls off-spin, struck up a lighthearted conversation with Cheteshwar Pujara, a top-order batter, following the fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series in 2023. After bowing an over of leg-spin for the team in the Ahmedabad Test match, Ashwin asked Pujara if he might forsake his bowling duties.
Pujara finally ended the teasing by telling Ashwin that he was resting the off-spinner so that he could bat third for the team in future Tests if necessary.
“Giving you enough rest to go one down again if needed.” Pujara replied.
