Former Pakistan spinner Danish Kaneria has heaped accolades on Team India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal following his fantastic batting performance in the just ended Rajkot Test against England.
Jaiswal astounded everyone with a scorching undefeated 214-run performance in the Men in Blue’s second innings. He handled the English bowlers with ease, hardly even scrapping with experienced pacer James Anderson, whom he blasted for three sixes in a succession.
Kaneria emphasized how the brilliant young players came out on top against Anderson, avoiding falling into the trap created by the seasoned veterans. In addition, he highlighted Jaiswal’s batting style as being akin to famous Indian sportsmen Virender Sehwag and Sourav Ganguly.

“Yashasvi Jaiswal is a combination of Sourav Ganguly and Virender Sehwag. He is like a left-handed version of Virender Sehwag. James Anderson is one of the finest fast bowlers and has taken close to 700 wickets. He has been there for ages. He made a plan to trap Jaiswal, but that kid understood the game and destroyed the trap.”

It is worth noting that Yashasvi Jaiswal is just the second Indian hitter to score consecutive double century in a Test series. His effort helped the hosts set an impressive 557-run target for the encounter.
Sarfaraz Khan, making his debut, also performed admirably with the bat, scoring 62 and 68*. Kaneria praised the right-handed hitter for his effective batsmanship.

England only managed 122 runs in the last innings. India had a notable victory of 434 runs, marking it as their top Test win in numbers. With this, India led the series 2-1 out of five matches.

Jasprit Bumrah, the pace bowling spearhead, has been a workhorse for Team India in the upcoming Test series against England. The speedster has made his impact on spin-friendly grounds.
Danish Kaneria stated that India should not rest their best bowler for the fourth Test. He stated that the team should first seek a series victory before resting its senior players.
“I don’t think Jasprit Bumrah will be rested for the fourth Test. He should play the fourth Test, and once India secure a series victory, he should get rest from the final fixture. India can rest a few senior players and try out their youngsters in the fifth Test, but not in the fourth Test.”
