Former Australian cricketer Brad Hogg was delighted by India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal’s dominance against England’s bowlers in the just finished five-match Test series.
Jaiswal earned the Player of the Series title after scoring 712 runs in five games, including two double-hundreds. While Hogg praised the southpaw for his coming-of-age series, he believes the teenager would need to adjust when India tours Australia at the end of this year.
In a video broadcast on his YouTube channel, Brad Hogg said the following about Yashasvi Jaiswal:
“Jaiswal played exceptionally well. Now how he is going to play when he comes here (Australia), he is going to have to change his game. Maybe look to use the pace while playing hook and pull shots instead of hitting hard. If he is going to be aggressive, he needs to have a new range of shots to his repertoire because of the pace and bounce in the surfaces.”

Jaiswal has now amassed 1028 runs in nine Tests, with an impressive average of 68.5. If he achieves similar success in Australia, it will boost his and India’s confidence in the future.
Brad Hogg on Sarfaraz Khan’s pace game
In one of his previous films, Brad Hogg voiced concern about Sarfaraz Khan’s ability to negotiate at a faster speed. He was pleasantly delighted to see the right-hander overpower Mark Wood in the fifth Test at Dharamsala.
Sarfaraz Khan seemed at ease playing the pull shot and didn’t hesitate to fire an uppercut against Wood’s tempo. Hogg stated:
“Sarfaraz Khan, I was worried about his game against fast bowling. But some of the pull shots he has played against sheer pace, I can say that he has been working on his game. I think he is just about ready to take on Australia’s pace attack in Australia with some of the pull shots he has played.”
