The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has expressed confidence that Jasprit Bumrah will recover from his injury and be available for the 2023 World Cup. Bumrah has been sidelined with a back injury since October 2022, causing him to miss the 2022 T20 World Cup and the upcoming ICC World Test Championship final.

Jasprit Bumrah’s last appearance for India was during the T20I series against Australia at home in September 2022. Due to a recurring injury sustained prior to the 2022 Asia Cup, he was unable to play in the third T20I. As a precautionary measure before the ICC’s flagship event, he has been ruled out of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2023). The ODI World Cup will be hosted by India later this year, with the schedule expected to be released soon.
