Zaheer Khan had a discussion recently. He talked about India’s strong fast bowling group. Who’s in it? It includes names like Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, and Mohammed Siraj.
In South Africa’s two-Test match, Bumrah and Siraj were simply brilliant with the ball. They grabbed 12 and 9 wickets each! Shami, however, missed the matches. Why? An ankle injury, that’s why.

When the three quick bowlers combine, Zaheer Khan said, the opposition would face an intimidating battle. As said by the former cricket player to Cricbuzz:
“We have all seen what Mohammed Shami can do. His wicket-taking strike rate is exceptional. Jasprit Bumrah is a proven match-winner, while Mohammed Siraj has also shown great improvement and progress over the years. If these three play together, India can trouble any team, irrespective of the conditions.”

In the first innings of the Cape Town Test, Siraj took six wickets to help India dismiss South Africa for 55 runs. Taking six wickets in the second innings, Jasprit Bumrah also joined the celebration.
“Siraj set the tone with his fantastic spell” – Zaheer Khan
Day 1 of the Cape Town Test saw Mohammed Siraj tormenting the South African hitters with his first delivery. As he progressed through the batting order, he consistently took wickets.
Regarding the significance of Siraj’s bowling achievements, Zaheer Khan continued:
“Mohammed Siraj’s six-wicket haul in the first innings holds great significance, given the context of the series. India were 0-1 behind and had even lost the toss in the second Test. Siraj set the tone with his fantastic spell.”

India succeeded in reaching the 79-run target in the fourth inning. They had seven wickets left. Their first Test victory against South Africa in Cape Town helped them draw the series 1-1.
An interesting fact is that this Test game between India and South Africa in Cape Town was the quickest finished Test match in history.
