Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravindra Jadeja, renowned spinners of India, caught up for some sweat time together in the gym. The location? The reputable National Cricket Academy located in Bengaluru. And it happened on Tuesday, January 16.
Yuzvendra Chahal decided to snap a picture of this meet up and later shared it on his social media. The shot? A comfy gym setting with Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravindra Jadeja sporting casual T-shirts and shorts, posing with enthusiastic thumbs-up signs. Which platform got the privilege of this post? During the current three-match home T20I series against Afghanistan, which also included the comebacks of veteran batsman Virat Kohli and regular captain Rohit Sharma, both Ravindra Jadeja and Yuzvendra Chahal were sidelined.
Recently, Jadeja nailed two wickets and hit 23 runs in two South Africa T20Is. In contrast, Yuzvendra Chahal didn’t make it to the XI, even though he was chosen for the three-match Proteas series. Surprisingly, this happened while the leg-spinner claimed 18 wickets in just eight games, keeping an economy rate of 3.70 during the 2023 Vijay Hazare Trophy.
We’re going to see Jadeja again in the upcoming five-game home Test series versus England. The event kicks off at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad. Meanwhile, it seems Chahal will play for Haryana in the current Ranji Trophy.
“There is no clarity yet whether Ravindra Jadeja or Axar Patel is your first spinner” – Aakash Chopra on India squad for 2024 T20 World Cup
Ex-India player Aakash Chopra suggests team leaders are still deciding their key spin-bowling allrounder for the 2024 T20 World Cup. This event kicks off on June 1 in the USA and the West Indies. Chopra, now a commentator, shared this on his YouTube channel:
Axar Patel, not commonly known, acquired four wickets in the beginning two T20Is against Afghanistan. The last of three T20I games featuring India and Afghanistan is set for this Wednesday at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. (January 17)
