The Rajasthan Royals (RR) hitter Yashasvi Jaiswal failed to score runs after trying a bad shot in the IPL 2024 match against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) team on May 2. The Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad city hosted the cricket game. The batter tried a fancy scoop shot but it did not work well and he got out.
Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a fantastic half-century and formed an important partnership with Riyan Parag after RR lost two wickets in the opening over of the chase. In order to keep the momentum flowing in the 14th over, Jaiswal attempted a scoop shot against SRH bowler Natarajan.
However, the southpaw failed to execute it correctly, only hitting the ball onto the stumps, prompting his exit. Yashasvi Jaiswal returned to the pavilion after hitting two sixes and seven fours his way to 67 (40).

In the cricket match, the captain of the SRH team, Pat Cummins, chose to bat first after winning the coin toss. The team put up a good score of 201 runs for 3 wickets. Some players did very well with the bat. Nitish Reddy scored 76 runs without getting out. Travis Head hit 58 runs. And Heinrich Klaasen remained not out after scoring 42 runs.
RR had a bad start when they were batting. Bhuvneshwar Kumar got the first batter out early, making the score 1/2. But then Yashasvi Jaiswal (67 runs) and Riyan Parag (77 runs) batted very well. They scored 134 runs together. This big partnership put RR in a good position to win the match.
However, the two returned to the pavilion in short succession, leaving the work unfinished. Pat Cummins and his teammates bowled brilliantly in the final few overs, helping the hosts to a close 1-run victory.
RR captain Sanju Samson reacted on the defeat after the game, saying:
