The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has recently made an announcement regarding the upcoming World Cup. They have taken a commendable step by offering free mineral and packaged drinking water to all spectators attending the matches in stadiums.
For the first time, India is hosting the ODI World Cup on its own this year. In the past, they have co-hosted it with neighboring nations in 1987, 1996, and 2011. In a victorious display, the Men in Blue claimed the trophy in 2011 by defeating Sri Lanka in an exciting final at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.
Jay Shah, the Honorary Secretary of the BCCI, posted on his X account on Thursday to express excitement for the World Cup in India. He continued by saying that the BCCI will offer free mineral water to spectators who attend stadiums across India to witness the matches. He penned on X:
